Fight to restore the Spirit’s power in this game
Spiritfall is a fast-paced action roguelite game. The game takes inspiration from platform fighters and has a beautifully vibrant, hand-drawn art style. You’ll be taking on the role of the Omenforged, a warrior chosen by the Divine Spirits to fight against the blight spreading across the land.
In Spiritfall, you’ll be using an ever-changing arsenal of powers and weapons to defeat enemies and progress through various levels. You can choose from a variety of weapons such as a hammer, fists, or bow and enhance your attacks and abilities through blessings from the Divine Spirits and perks gained from defeated enemies.
Immersive gameplay
In Spiritfall, the Perennial Flame chose you. There are five Divine Spirits that have been entrusted with the safety and well-being of the realm, but they are skeptical of your skills. Despite this, they've opted to put their faith in the judgment of the Perennial Flame. The Spirits are now weak and have no power, and it is up to you to restore it by crossing the Brink.
During your travels and runs, you’ll meet and encounter various characters, both friends and foes, who can either join you on your quest or stand in your way. The more you progress through the game, the more the world grows, and the more you learn about these characters and their motivations. The gameplay focuses on quick, combo-based combat and allows players to forge their own weapons and enchant items.
The combat system takes inspiration from platform fighters and requires you to learn deadly combos and interweave normal attacks, special attacks, aerial attacks, and ranged shot attacks to maximize damage and interrupt enemy attacks. However, the only downside to this game is its faulty dashing mechanics where it's hard to control which way you’re going. This can be a bit of a nuisance in a fast-paced game like this one.
Quite addicting
Despite its dashing mechanics being faulty and a bit hard to control, Spiritfall is a promising game with solid gameplay mechanics and a captivating storyline. It offers fast-paced and intuitive gameplay, with smooth and fluid combat mechanics, a simple but engaging story, and a variety of weapons, blessings, and upgrades to choose from. It is highly recommended for those who enjoy platformer and sidescrolling games.
